These terms apply when you buy from bikeshopnewry.co.uk. Please read them before you order. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish law.
1. About us
Bike Shop Newry, Newry, County Down, Northern Ireland. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Placing an order
When you place an order you will get an email confirming that we have received it. That email is an acknowledgement, not an acceptance. A contract between us is formed only when we email you to say your bike has been dispatched.
If we cannot fulfil your order — for example if the bike is no longer in stock — we will tell you and refund you in full.
3. Prices
The price shown on the product page is the total price you pay, including VAT where it applies. Any delivery charge is shown at checkout before you pay.
We take care to price everything correctly. If we find a genuine pricing error before your bike is dispatched, we will contact you, and you can either confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.
4. Payment
We accept payment by card and by Revolut Pay. Payment is taken when you order, and is processed securely by Revolut. We never see your full card details.
5. Delivery
We deliver free of charge anywhere in Ireland, and we aim to deliver within 3 to 5 working days of your order. If we cannot meet that, we will contact you.
Responsibility for the bike passes to you once it has been delivered. Please check it when it arrives and tell us within 48 hours if anything is damaged or missing.
6. Changing your mind
Because you are buying online, you have 14 days from the day you receive your bike to change your mind, for any reason at all. To do that:
- Tell us within 14 days of delivery, by emailing [email protected].
- Send the bike back to us within 14 days of telling us.
- You pay the cost of returning the bike. Bicycles are bulky and return carriage is expensive, so please take this into account.
- You are welcome to handle and inspect the bike as you would in a shop. If it has been ridden or used beyond that, we may reduce your refund to reflect the drop in value.
We will refund you within 14 days of getting the bike back, to the same payment method you used.
7. If something is faulty
Your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 are not affected by anything in these terms. If your bike is faulty, not as we described it, or not fit for purpose, you may be entitled to a repair, a replacement, a price reduction or a refund. In that case we pay the cost of returning it.
Where a manufacturer’s warranty applies, it is in addition to your legal rights, not instead of them.
8. Assembly and safety
Please make sure your bike is properly set up and safe before you ride it, and that the brakes and any quick-release mechanisms are secure. If you are not certain, bring it to us or to a qualified mechanic. Wear a helmet and follow the rules of the road.
9. Bike to Work scheme
We take part in the Bike to Work scheme. Purchases through the scheme are arranged with your employer and follow a different ordering and refund process, so please contact us before ordering if you intend to use it.
10. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
11. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, email us at [email protected] and we will do our best to put it right. If we cannot resolve it between us, you can contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at ccpc.ie.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
